One for Cardiff City fans this one. Lee Tomlin was brought into the club in the summer from Bristol City for a fee reported to be around £3 million pounds, which with finances as they are at the club is a substantial figure. Tomlin always has been a creative player for all the clubs he has played for, either with assists or scoring goals, with Peter Whittingham leaving the club, Tomlin was going to be the player who came in and took over that creative mantle or so I thought.
Last Friday, Cardiff were losing to Birmingham City by one goal and clearly, things were not going well and needed a change, however, Tomlin who was sat on the bench remained exactly that, sat on the bench and Cardiff went down to a one-goal defeat.
Appreciate how good a season Cardiff City have had to date, lying second on the table, but Tomlin has only played in 5 League games out of a possible twelve to date. Are there concerns over his fitness? Does Warnock prefer a hard-working midfielder such as Craig Bryson over a technically more gifted player such as Tomlin?
What do Cardiff City fans think?
